Lord, have mercy on us!
Opening Responses
We bring to God the brokenness of this World.
Lord, have mercy on us.
When suffering surrounds us,
God speaks words of hope.
Lord, have mercy on us,
and save us from the storms of life.
When we keep silent,
God sings a song of justice.
Lord, have mercy on us,
and save us from selfish power.
When we are the problem,
God dies to set us free.
Lord, have mercy on us,
and save us from ourselves.
When we fear the future,
God unveils a new creation.
Lord, have mercy on us,
and help us to live for you.
Psalm
Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and shall be forever. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come; thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.
Closing Responses
When times are hard, God is love.
Lord, help us to trust in you.
When evil seems to triumph, God is love.
Lord, help us to speak your Word.
When darkness overwhelms us, God is love.
Lord, help us to bring hope wherever we go.
And may God use our words,
thoughts and actions
in the service of salvation.
Amen. Thanks be to God.
